Because it's marketed that way to them...that's part of the lovely "Cobalt
Way" ... you don't have to know nuthin' to run one of these puppies.

You are not the only one (g).

In the defense of the get rich folks, Cobalt is selling right into
that market. And, if you think of how crippled the product is, it makes sense
that it is designed to NOT allow you to be much more than an appliance
operator.

I have a customer who insists he can't spend the money to have his web
page designed by a pro...so he spends countless hours downloading
"Appliance Operator" packages, and signs up for Gawd Knows how many
"Host with us and you'll be able to publish your web page in seconds"
deals.

Every time he does it, he shoots himself in the foot, wastes time and
money, because he wants to "Get Rich" without understanding the rudiments
of anything. So when he calls for "advice", I simply get an authorization
on his card, tell him the clock is running and do NOT argue...he is far
smarter than I am, since he is "Getting Rich".

Oh I am not going to blast you at all. Your points are well taken, and
put forth far more deleicately than I would do.

But, I would suggest that you think about the Cobalt part of the equation,
and perhaps if you do see a connection, whip a little bit of guilt and
discomfort on them..after all, if there is no one to put the wallet
bulging with money on the sidewalk, the greedy folks won't pick it up (g).
