When testing the SMTP server, on a dialup connection, i try send
mail on either raq3 or 4, and i get
"Unable to Connect to Server"
when in fact, its domain.com (and i am able to connect to get the mail)
One possibility is that your service provider is blocking for all
smtp servers but its own. Many of the larger providers are now doing
this to block spam abuse. Try using the provider's smtp server for
outgoing email if that's what's happening.
If your provider is small and you want to use your own smtp server,
you should enable "relaying" for that provider. On the Raq3, it's
done in the GUI's control panel for "email parameters". Warning:
don't do this for a very large provider, however, because your Raq
will become "spam central" very quickly.
That said, there COULD be a problem with the server on your Raq but
the above two issues are often the cause of the kind of problem
you're seeing.
