Here's the problem...
I have an existing PHP+MySQL install working smootly. I've installed
ChiliSoft! and it works smoothly as well. Except... I cannot access MySQL
databases neither through a DNS or DNS-less connection. I'm pretty certain
I'm doing the right thing. When testing a DNS connection from ChiliSoft!
admin-panel, I get the error message:
Test connecton failed
Error: -2147467259
Description: Specified driver could not be loaded
I've figured out so far that the problem relates to MySQL. Judging from
recent posts in the ChiliSoft forums this is a common problem encountered
by RaQ3 owners. The solution given by the ChiliSoft! techie is:
"The MySQL-Client and MySQL-shared_libraries RPM's must be installed on
the Web server machine."
Fair enough, so I'll re-do the MySQL install. However, I don't want any
big trouble with this as I've got MySQL/PHP dependent sites running 24
hours.
Question: Can I safely re-install MySQL using the RaQ3-RaQ4-MySQL
3.22.32-1 .pkg at http://pkg.nl.cobalt.com/ which seems to support ASP,
and happily ignore warnings, and advice, given here and elsewhere that
MySQL should always be installed FIRST when used with PHP?
Has anyone installed the package for the same purpose as me, WITH a
MySQL+PHP dual-install already in place?
Will the .pkg work with PHP, or do I need to reinstall PHP as well?
Another thing, will the .pkg wipe out existing databases?
Med vennlig hilsen / Yours Sincerely,
