I like tcsh, but the appliance sticks us with bash. There are some
tutorial pages I've rseen on bash...but they are not really clear and
don't have a lot of practical examples.

Every once in a while I get lucky and write something that actually
works...and suck it into cron ... so the appliance does things for me.
One that seems helpful to assuage paranoia is a deal that
tars up a user directory at midnight, creates the file with a date-based
name and then creates an html file listing all the backup files present in
the directory.

So, you just click on the link and download the tarball, without having to
fret with the cobalized .raq file.

I think it would be helpful if folks felt motivated to post any
"receipes" they run using bash, since that's the default shell for the
appliances.

What, you don't have an appreciation for bloated code? It's so easy on
the eyes when you make a page....just don't look at the code. (g)
