[cobalt-users] How do you publish Front Page stuff?

Using the above and similar searches of the archive in an attempt to
have a customer publish his web pages before the DNS propogates
I see suggestions of
"If his domain hasn't transferred over yet, just have him publish to the
IP address. When he connects to the site with his username, he is
automatically transferred into his personal user's directory. He needs to move
up to the root directory and then down in to the main site's "Web".

Front Page gleefully says it can't find the extensions, suggests FTP,
and allows no choice of where...dumps the stuff in the personal
directory

Another suggestion states
ftp://name-or-address/../../web
But, if I enter
ftp://ip_of_server/../../web
Frontpage responds with Bad parameter passed to web server extensions

Any hints would be greatly appreciated
