Posting to the list as the previous reply went to the author by accident and
reply-to header.

I suggest you subscribe to a spam service like postmasterdirect.com or
something similar.
Right now it's rare on this list and only a minor annoyance, but if not
discouraged, it won't be.

If those 50+ message threads stop thousands of potential spams, I'm all for
it. If the spammers out there haven't gotten the message, unfortunately it
will continually have to be pointed out that unsolicited commercial posts
are not welcome.
You have a service to offer? Participate in the list and put it in your sig.
