Ok, here is my .02 for what it is worth.
First of all, I realize that many of the people on this list
are admins, and that alone can cause this type of problem.
But, it is possible for several people who are used to
"playing god" in their own domain to get along in the
common sandbox of life. Let's kill the "belt buckle wars"
and "pee-pee stomping" so the content of this list can
be useful *AND* enjoyable to read for all subscribers.
These personal on-list battles for the "Alpha" position
get really old really quick.
Secondly, I personally don't mind seeing an occasional
"add" or "solicitation" email on this list. They are
fairly rare and result in a couple extra emails to delete.
I realize that not everyone feels that way about it, and
they are entitled to feel the way they do. The problem is
when everybody responds to them negatively and creates an
entire thread of attacks on the person that sent it,
resulting in another personal on-list battle. I mentioned
this subject once before and I got back responses with
people complaining about the "bandwidth usage" they have
to pay for to get these "add" emails, but those same
people are the ones that start the process of turning
those single email annoyances into a 50+ message thread
of hammering people - maybe it's just me but that seems
very hypocritical.
I also am aware that this email may just fuel the fire,
but I am hoping that the maturity level here can increase
and maybe this can be the last message on this thread.
