RE: [cobalt-users] what no .html???

Netscape has always been a very strict Catholic Nun.
Leave out ONE stinking closing tag bracket and it will
reward you with a blank page.

IE on the other hand is more like a 42nd St Street Worker.
It's not nearly as demanding and it will pretty much do anything.
This type of behavior might have some bad points at times but
overall I'd rather have the viewer see something than nothing.

It's easier to tweak Apache to prevent embarrassing faux pas
than it is to develop two sites...one for the Nun and one for
the hoe. After all there's only 16 people including Mr.Lasman
still using Netscape. <g>

+Actually, I think it's a Netscape bug. Someone pointed out there's
+a default
+setting in a .conf for text/html for unknown file types. Netscape's problem
+is it won't process it unless there's a proper MIME type set.
+
+Most admins are aware of this now, but I remember not long ago having to
+find the info for an admin on setting the proper MIME type so a .mid file
+would play in Netscape that played just fine in IE. It used to be a common
+question in the newsgroups of "Why won't my MIDI file play in Netscape?"
