Re: [cobalt-users] majodomo and updare OS4 on RAQ3

Having just updated a RAQ3 with OS4 after reading the benefits which the
main one was

" Users are now able to use the 'newconfig' option of majordomo "

Then I sent it back with the top line changed to "newconfig thelist
password" and got the following error back

 newconfig testme ajb
The new config file for testme was NOT accepted because:
Can't find restrict_post file
/usr/local/majordomo/www.domain-name.ext/lists/testme.new at line 389
unknown key |keyword.| in file testme.new.config at line 38

Well, first off, you rebooted after installation right? Because if you did, it appears that the new upgrade isn't doing what it's supposed to. That's a pity because, like you, I consider this THE main reason to install it!

Anyway, the line 389 error is the one that has plagued us all along, the one that should have been fixed.

But there's a second error (line 38) and it's in the file that it supposedly couldn't find! LOL What did you change in the config file, Andrew? It could be that you made an error in those changes and that's what's creating the second error.

Re the "can't find it" error, two possibilities: you can Telnet in and change what you need to, save it and then it's active (no restart necessary) or you can Telnet in and hack the file /usr/local/majordomo/config_parse.pl so you'll always be able to post config changes by email. But I've never done that hack so I can't vouch for it or say whether it will affect the GUI's functioning.

Here's where it is in the archives:
