I think this is "over the top" and a tad excessive.
Free speech works both ways, and if your argument is
that rackspace.net's "pitch" (as you termed it) is
inappropriate, let me remind you that the very items
he indicated were the ones called into question...
I don't think this list should be used as a public
forum to air one's likes/dislikes of various hosting
companies -- there are numerous webboards and other
discussion lists designed expressly for this purpose.
And utlimately, there are hundreds of companies that
offer Cobalt servers, so by no means is anyone forced
to deal with a company they're not comfortable with.
