No "snide remarks" from this neck 'o the woods Thom!!

IMHO, *any* resource *anywhere* that helps *anyone* understand the
strange cobalt world would be welcome.
NOW...I didn't say, and DIDN'T mean that cobalt is bad by definition
either. There are a few observations I could make about updates, pkg
files et al but won't, since this isn't the message, or even forum for
such discussions.

What IS good about Cobalt is that the world of server "appliances" has
been exposed to a whole new group of people (and vice versa!)....another
market has emerged or enlarged to include a segment that felt (or was)
previously excluded. Plus the damn things are fun to use regardless of
your experience or lack thereof!!
However, cobalt machines have their own peculiarities, and since the OS
is a "mini-distro" of its own, both of these facts point towards the
necessity for online referential material available for all knowlege
levels.

Cobalt's knowlege base is truly pathetic....sorry, I can find no other
way to describe it. Anyone prepared to invest the time to put up a
viable alternative deserves applause in my book. This type of effort is,
after all, illustrative of the information-sharing environment that so
typifies the [core] internet "culture".

Thom, if you have the burning desire to do something like this, go for
it!!!!!!!!!! Everyone (including you) will benefit from such an effort
and the results will be a resource....a place in which accumulated
knowlege resides. Who could possibly ask for better!
Kind Regards,
-Colin
