Gee Craig, lots of help there.
At 12:31 AM 1/13/01 -0500, you wrote:
I needs to upgrade to a newer version of apache and do not know how

Also, any help on how securising my web site with SSL is welcome.
You're kidding right..? You don't know how to setup SSL services on
>>your RaQ3 and yet you're talking about wanting to recompile and
upgrade the Apache kernel on the system...
Believe me! I'm not trying to "humor" (or insult) him; I'm a realist -
just as I was when I helped point you to the mySQL packages you installed
on your box. How closely do you follow this <or the developer?s> list..?
If he even *thinks* he'll be able to recompile his RaQ3 successfully, the
best to him!! I've followed and participated <and observed> this board
<and developers list> for over a year now, and to my knowledge, even the
slickest of Cobalt guru?s haven't succeeded in recompiling their RaQ3 <at
least not without MAJOR headaches ? again to my knowledge> - It?ll break
everything on the box!! And for god's sake, he's asking how to setup SSL -
it's a button and a text field in the siteadmin GUI -- please!! Trust me -
don't try and recompile your RaQ3, you'll find yourself on the floor in
tears..!! Let?s not lead people that need or request our help down a path
of destruction under false pretenses?
Now? The poster just stated he needed to upgrade <recompile> Apache to the
latest version, but he didn?t state for what reason. I?m betting it might
be so he can run PHP4 <maybe not>, as it requires Apache to be compiled
with 1.3.12+ <Cobalt?s come installed with 1.3.6>. ?-BUT? HE DOESN?T NEED
TO RECOILE APACHE to get PHP4 to work.. The list has good instructions on
how to install PHP4 if one searches the archives.. <again if that?s what he
wanted the recompile for>.
Good Luck to ya!
