First, make sure you have enabled SSL on the site you are creating a csr
for
in Site Settings.
Second, goto SSL Settings screen. Fill out all the required info. NOTE:
when entering the state, spell out the state name (no abbreviations). I
learned this the hard way when trying to get my certificate signed by
VeriSign.
Third, from the pull down menu, select Generate Self-signed Certificate.
Click Save Changes.
Finally, when the resulting screen appears, you will see all the "code"
that
appears with a header that reads: ---BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST---
Copy all of that text and paste it into a UNFORMATTED text file. I used
Microsoft word and saved the file as text-only. Then re-open the text file
and copy the text. This can then be pasted into the csr request area on
the
VeriSign site for processing.
PLEASE NOTE: It is a good idea to immediately delete the certificate from
the SSL Settings GUI after you copy it. Just so you don't forget.
Good luck,
Brian J. Coughter
