Not sure is I am reading this right but shouldn't you be leaving out the www
as in your domain name host and substituting the sub-domain in its place ?
i.e. http://www2.domain.com and not http://www.www2.domain.com ? your email
and host alias would then read www2.domain.com .
Don't take this as gospel as I am certainly not in the guru league :-) ! but
have set up a few subdomains which seem to work and resolve OK.
