 Yes, very well said indeed.

 I especially appreciate the perspective on programming projects
 
 I distribute a moderately popular perl program, written 
 just as you say, in spare time, always juggling family,
 bills, other jobs, house, etc.  I'm always a little a gasp
 when folks ask me to put this in, put that in, it should
 be just a simple little addition .. and I think similar
 products have 20 programmers working full time and they
 haven't put it in ..
