Is the PHP control effected by the httpd.conf?

reworded into english....

apart from the php.ini,

is control over which sites can run php etc maintained in the httpd.conf file under the virtual host section at the end of the file???. If it is then as long as the httpd.conf are the same then and changes to the php installation will not be effected. Correct???

Regards Danny

Hey Danny,

just about to take control of a virgin RAQ4
 and need some info,
I am confident on how to install PHP4 as used on previous Linux installs.
 However,
if installed from tar how does this effect the RAQ admin systems?

I don't think it effects it but I don't have a RAQ4.

I'm not sure I understand this question but, yes you have to tweek some
configurations in the httpd.conf and srm.conf files.

If so what are the consequences of custom building APACHE?

It voids your warranty. But if you're not concerned with that I used these
instructions by Paul Schreiber to compile PHP4 into Apache on a RAQ2
