Feeling stupid as anything, I've spent hours trying to get procmail
working in /home/sites/sitexx/users/myname
I've crawled all through the archives. Nothing seems to work.
Trying to create a simple autoresponder.
I'd appreciate any hints from someone that actually has it working.
thanks,
thom
I had a *lot* of trouble with procmail on the Raq2 and the Raq4.
I've recently figured out that a lot of my problems with it on the
Raq4 had to do with two things:
1) The version of procmail on my Raq (v3.13.1) is *very* picky about
directory permissions.
2) A lot of the documentation floating around the net to do with
procmail is for much older versions of procmail.
The best tutorial I found-that enabled me to actually get procmail to
do anything useful on my Raq4-can be found at
http://www.ii.com/internet/robots/procmail/qs/
I'm not sure about the Raq3 but the Raq4, using a variant of RedHat
Linux 6.x, is set up to automatically send mail through procmail.
This means that you don't need to have a .forward file. You can just
have a .procmailrc file plus include whatever recipes you want.
Good luck!
Michelle
