[cobalt-users] probs with virtusertable

i am trying to set up an email alias

i have set the host to accept email in the gui.

in the /etc/virtusertable file, below the "Add custom entires" line,
entered:

user@xxxxxxxxxx  user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx


i then did the makehash command, as per cobalt faq's.

if i attempt to send a mail to this user, i receive the following error:


   ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<user@xxxxxxxxxx>

   ----- Transcript of session follows -----
553 domain.com. config error: mail loops back to me (MX problem?)
554 <user@xxxxxxxxxx>... Local configuration error



does anybody have experience with this?  the user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx domain
is hosted on a totally different box, is not mentioned in the dns on the
raq, etc.
