Actually... <sheepish grin> it's not my server that's FUBAR,
it's my brain. I'm learning as fast as I can but (a) there are
still huge gaps here and (b) sometimes I trip over stuff I
should already know.

What we've proven today is that I still don't understand (or
have so quickly forgotten) how this works. I'm sure my server
will agree with you, and after more reading and testing, so
will I.
