Hi,
I have a strange thing happen to my RAQ 4i recently.
On Monday 18th December at around 17:10 the server stopped responding to any
telnet, http, ftp or mail requests. I was out of the country and did not
determine the server was down until late on Tuesday evening. I could ping
the server but it would not respond to any other requests. I got my ISP to
restart the server on Wednesday 20th in the morning, but the admin console
was showing a lot of error 500 (internal server errors) when trying to do
tasks.
Then at around 04:00am on Thursday the server stopped responding in exactly
the same way. I got the server to be rebooted the next morning.
This has occurred every day since then. This is of course making the server
un-usable!
I've checked my logs and nothing strange seems to be happening (although I'm
no Unix expert) and no unauthorised access seems to have occurred. I got my
ISP to check this as well and they agree.
The strange thing for me is that the last time I accessed the server was
Friday 15th December and that was just to pick up some mail. Between then
and the first crash I nor anyone else authorised to do anything on the
server touched the machine! It just seemed to happen by itself!
Help!
