Cobalt hasn't changed Majordomo at all. What they've done is set up
their gui to make changes to the various majordomo configuration files

Hmmmm... never tried it, but if it did work, any time you'd change the
RaQ (add a site, change a site, etc.) many majordomo configurations
would just cease to exist.

My RaQ uses majordomo 1.94.4. The latest version any reasonable person
uses is 1.94.5. Neither Cobalt nor likely too many other people in the
world will ever implement Majordomo 2; there are just too many other
options out there now if you need more than Majordomo 1 offers, and the
implementation of Majordomo 2 runs even more slowly than Majordomo 1.

Many of them, if you use them, will be overridden by Cobalt's gui
"sauce". When I spoke to Cobalt tech support about this (over a year
ago) their response was that the majordomo was only meant to be used
through their interface and if I had needs to do anything else with
majordomo, I should make my own install. I did, and I still do. I
offer a service wherein I install another version of Majordomo on your
system if you'd like, and set up some sample files so you can learn how
to use it. However, teaching you majordomo is NOT within the scope of
my installation agreement, and I do have to make some (minor) changes to
the install to get it to run alongside the Cobalt installation which I
do NOT remove.

Then install your own Majordomo alongside Cobalt's, or have an outside
vendor (such as me) do it for you.

Majordomo is NOT a daemon; it doesn't run unless an email has been piped
to it, so it doesn't use up any more system resources this way (except
for under 200k of additional disk space).
