Are these "ports" in the linux sense of the word? Somehow I don't think
so. "ras-port-30" is simply the name of a device I'd bet. And yes, you
can (and probably should) have both A records pointing "ras-port-30" to
an IP#, and a pointer pointing the IP# back to "ras-port-30" (and the
other RAS devices as well).
It sound's like you're taking on a rather ambitious job; you'd better
learn DNS fast, or perhaps hire a DNS consultant (ahem <smile>) or buy
outside DNS services (ahem, again <smile, again>).
