As far as I know, I believe the RAQ3 uses a standard AMD K6-2 300mhzprocessor. You should be able to simply remove the processor and stick in another processor, most likely up to 500 mhz.
There's other things to consider. While it *might* work (at least for sometime), you also might encounter problems because of heating issues and core bus speed problems. The RaQ3 box's *DO* have jumppers for the core bus speed, they're just hard wired at the facotory so we can't tweak with them.
I considered the same, asked on the developers list earlier this month, and recv'd the info below regarding the setup of the MB in the RaQ3 systems...

I need to replace a CPU in one of our RaQ3 systems. I notice there are no jumpers on the MB, and I'm thinking about slapping in a 450-500Mhz AMD K6-2 chip to replace the 300Mhz. Can this MB handle one of these chips or could that spell trouble..? I'veI've always set core speed (jumpers) on any chip I've installed, but these MB's in the RaQ3's appear jumperless.
There are jumpers on the motherboard, but they are hard-wired at the factory. This is probably a good thing, since when we brought up the Raq-4 we found all sorts of interesting thermal issues with the 450 MHz processor. Cooling things in a 1U form factor is not trivial. Doing things that add heat and draw extra power, such as faster CPU's and different disks can have strange and odd side effects.
