I purchased a $250/month dedicated RaQ4i from globalinternet.net. I
e-mailed and asked about what kind of connection I would have. The
exact response was "We would give you a 10Mbps port on our switch. If
you need 100Mbps, I'm sure we can work it out" giving me the impression
they could handle 100mbit if necessary. After signing up I find out
they're running on a 512k line to host their colo as well as their own
web hosting services. I'm pulling 3.5k a sec average off my machine
during prime time (up to about 12k/sec daytime).
I had 7 people from various places pull an average of 4k a sec last
night. This can't be legal. I could run it off an AOL dialup account
and achieve higher speeds. What can I do? I'm stuck in a 12 month
contract (like all colo providers make you do) and prepaid 6 months.
On the plus side I have unlimited bandwidth. heh *smirk*
I just got an e-mail from them claiming they're upping to a T1. ooo boy
now I can get 7k a second at night.
help?
