Sometimes when a script on one of my raq3's runns it throws back a error
html page, now I checked the /var/log/httpd/error log file and got this;
[Thu Dec 7 13:52:29 2000] [warn] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] handler
"cgi-wrapper" not found for: /home/sites/site7/web/cgi-bin/mmstdol.cgi
It only happens every now and then, what could be causing it?
That cgi-wrap error usually means a paths problem or a permissions
problem but it's very strange that you're only encountering it
sporadically.
Is this the only script on your machine that presents this problem?
Does it happen only when you first try to call it? Or is it during a
specific action being taken with the script? If the latter, there
could be a configuration problem in the script configs or you may
have a permission problem with one of the htm pages that Mailman
calls. You might just want to check through all your permissions to
make sure they match with the instructions. Because this script
relies so much on htm pages, even one of those with a bad permission
can break the script functions.
How much memory do you have on the box? If it's low, Mailman will
choke if there are too many simultaneous calls to it...or it will
"time out" and that may give you the cgi-wrap error. The program does
use lots of memory when it's active.
If you could say precisely what's being done when it happens, I might
be able to help a bit more.
Also, just in case, try running the script at the command line and
see if it chokes at some point. That may give you a precise script
location for the problem.
