I too have had nothing but problems w/ this company.  They simply are not
reliable.  As far as your readings w/ netwhistle, check to make sure what
they are testing.  Typically the connection does not go down, it just is
unreliable.  You are still able to connect at between a 500ms to a 2,000ms
delay and this may not trigger a reading w/ netwhistle as it is still able
to access the site.  However, a 500ms delay is similiar to a 56K load time
due to the half second delay!

I keep my server on a constant ping, day and night and with TOP running to
know exactly what the heck is going on.  I can tell you from my experience
www.cobaltracks.com servers exceed a 500ms connection delay at least 2 to 3
times per day.

And if you buy the bit about the update or work.  I have been told that
several times - every time the server goes down - that is if I actually
receive a response.  Checkout the list, back on November 5, 2000??? - there
was also an update that took 1 full day to fix!  Soon as they fixed it it
broke again the next day, and then the week after!!

Well, lease or no lease, I cannot afford to continue w/ this company.  I
have already started to negotiate leasing my own connection where I will
have complete access to the facilities.  Cut out the middle man and make
sure things are done right!!

If anyone is interested in getting together and sharing the cost of a
dedicated leased line equally divided by usage please contact me.  If a few
of us get together we can lease a 10mbs line at a total cost of $4,000
($1.28 a gb) a month divided among us and purchase IPs at the rate of $100 a
month per block of 256.  Cut out the middle man and make sure things are
done right!!

FYI, I am not in the active business of selling leased lines - so if anyone
knows any cheaper leased lines let me know.  Currently, that is the best
price I have found near where I live - which I expect to lease shortly
provided I can get enough funds raised.
