Re: [cobalt-users] more on cobaltracks/visuallink

i too have a server there...

the support emails have gone unanswered on several occasions...

the phone number on the site will not get you support..

infact the unfriendly woman at "visuallink" will refer you to another number you have tpo dial...

once i actually do get to somebody in support i get very qualified and capable help...

all of our site are also slow and the server crashes it the drop of a hat quite often.

they are new ai this and have some 300 servers on line...

i belive they may be moving too fast...

i would wait for a week or 2 until they get a better handle on things...

i was told today by a support person they were working on a new uunet backbone connection.

this might simple be a case of you get what you pay for...

our server is only $99.00 per month

we use it primarily for testing and r/d

Well I have a server with cobaltracks and I too have said a few good things
about cobaltracks until recently. Their service has gone downhill
dramatically, we're getting LOADS of complaints from customers and servers
drop for anything from 25 minutes to upto 8 hours... we have contacted
support FIVE TIMES this week and have received NO REPLY. We have just
reported cobaltracks to the BBB and we're now forced to having to discuss
matters with our lawyers simply because cobaltracks refuse to acknowledge or
respond to any emails. Thanks to cobaltracks we have lost 35% of our
customers in the last few days. We call them on the phone and a woman
answers insisting they offer no telephone support and that the number we're
calling is not cobaltracks at all.

At the moment our server is lagging to hell again, FTP transfers lag, shell
lags, everything lags. Doing a traceroute shows problems with visual-links
connection and this has been going on for nearly two weeks now. Not a
single response to our emails.

So out of all those who have posted generous words about cobaltracks in the
past, who is prepared to stand by them now? I doubt there is a single
cobaltracks customer who is happy at present. Has anyone got a SINGLE reply
from them about the ongoing problems?

Here's another thread on a dedicated servers message board that is also
critical of cobaltracks:

Sorry but I'm sick of this joke of a company.

Amanda.
