Frank,
I have successfully backed up and restored a Raq3i, and i think you do not
need the /proc directory.
And I ignored the Removing leading '/' from absolute links error with out
problems.
This HOWTO applies pretty well,

You do not need to worry about lilo. The raq firmware finds the new
partitions without any extra tricks.
If you are doing things remotely, then avoid this step:
/sbin/telinit 1
It gives control to the console, and you would need a terminal on the serial
port to continue.
