Secondly with 20 years experience, you don't know how to reply to the list
?
Amazng!!
<snip>
I clicked the reply button as I normally do when replying to messages on
this list. However your headers show the reply to path as yourself instead
of the list!
<snip>
Its people like you that deter people from this forum.
<snip>
On the contrary, it's people like you who deter people from this forum. I
merely reminded you that you RENT from UK2 and you let rip with a tirade of
abuse fit for a Big Issue seller.
<snip>
If you have a gripe with UK2 - take it up with them - this is not the place
for it in my opinion.
<snip>
I have no gripe with UK2. They have elevated the profile of the Cobalt RaQ
and everyone benefits from that. It's a VERY big cake and there are plenty
of slices to go round.
<snip>
As for my my contractual arrangements with UK2 - That is not your concern -
but frankly I find it amazing that you feel you have sufficent knowlege of
my arrangements - to publicly comment on them.
<snip>
No comment now or previously! Merely pointed out that you RENT.
<snip>
To to set the record straight . UK2 currently gives me 10GB bandwidth. which
is sufficent for my needs at this time.
<snip>
I hope they are able to continue providing you with what you require.
OK, a question for all. How much would it cost in the UK for a company, not
just UK2, to provide 1,000 servers with 10Gb of transfer per month? What
size of line? Infrastructure, dedicated power supply, UPS's, standby
generator, staff? Not forgetting physical location, racks etc.
<snip>
If UK2 go belly up - its the best thing that could happen to me, since I
took out an insurance policy with Lloyds of London to reimburse me
significantly should I be affected within the three year period.
<snip>
Additional expenditure! And, it shows that despite your trying to convince
us that you are happy with the service, that you were uncomfortable and took
out insurance. Could you post details of your policy, I'm sure there are a
lot of UK2 customers who would buy that kind of policy :-)
<snip>
As for Tax relief on capital expenditure.
Would I not have to be in business and making a profit to benefit fron this?
As I am retired and this is a hobby, I doubt the Inland Revenue would be so
generous to offset it against my pension.
If you can provide me with a RAQ, bandwidth in excess of 10GB for less than
$475 a year - I would certainly consider it, should UK2 go bust.
Can you do that ?
<snip>
Aha, a hobby! In that case UK2 is ideal for your needs. Business users with
a requirement for bandwidth on demand AND a telephone number for support
will consider other alternatives.
I couldn't provide you with hardware and bandwidth for that sum, I want to
make a profit to sustain this company. My customers will appreciate that in
a couple of years when I'm still doing business with them.
Finally, why do you quote your prices in $$$ when you are in London?
