[cobalt-users] [RAQ 4] MySQL, RPM's and PKG

Hi,

I downloaded the RaQ3-RaQ4-MySQL-3.22.32-1.pkg from pkg.nl.cobalt.com and
put it in one of my virtual sites before referencing it to install via the
URL option in the Maintenance > Install Software option in the Server
Management Screen of my RAQ 4.

It worked fine with some PHP scripts, but when I came to use some Perl
scripts, I found that the DBI and DBD modules hadn't been installed with the
PKG. I then tried to use CPAN to install the modules using the latest
Bundle option in CPAN. This stated that it couldn't find a mysql.h file
which I searched my server for but couldn't find.

I then contacted my managed hosting tech support who said that they couldn't
understand why it wasn't installed with the PKG and should either download
the source from MySQL.com or try re-installing the PKG.

I uninstalled the MySQL packages by first searching with:

rpm -qa |grep -i mysql

Then Uninstalled three packages using:

rpm -e MySQL-3.22.32-1
rpm -e MySQL-client-3.22.32-1
rpm -e MySQL-shared-3.22.32-1

I then went to install the software again via the Maintenance > Install
Software on the server management screen but the MySQL package is still
appearing in the installed software list and won't let my install the
package again!

So, two questions really:

1. how can I get rid of the package info from the Install Software screen so
I can install again
2. how can I be sure that the DBD and DBI modules are installed with the
package.

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks,
