I wasn't just moving the same messed-up script to the new server. I got the
original script and made absolute minimum customization I required and
installed it on the new server. I think what happened was, as Alfredo
pointed out, that I renamed the script to "index.cgi" so that it would run
as soon as the user's browser was pointed at the website. The mailman
webmail script is one large perl 5 file which might be calling on itself for
subsequent processing of outgoing mails, attachments, etc. Since I renamed
the script file, it might have had difficulty locating itself. I should
have thought about this issue...
