RE: [cobalt-users] CLOSE TELNET

you should open port 53 dns, 22 ssh, 21 ftp, 80 www, 25 smtp and 110 pop3.
And 81 if you want to be able to use the admin interface.

(sorry iv posted this before) A postscan of my server reveals i have the
follwoing porst/services running, can anyone advise which ones i can
close/shutdown (my server is a primary NS / ssh / ftp / www / email

[15] (UNKNOWN) is running.
[21] (ftp) is running.
[22] (ssh) is running.
[23] (telnet) is running.
[25] (smtp) is running.
[53] (domain) is running.
[79] (finger) is running.
[80] (http) is running.
[81] (hosts2-ns) is running.
[110] (pop3) is running.
[111] (sunrpc) is running.
[119] (nntp) is running.
[143] (imap) is running.
[444] (snpp) is running.
[540] (uucp) is running.
[635] (UNKNOWN) is running.
