We slaved the drive in another box and did fsck /dev/hdX1 and fsck /dev/hdX3
which ran clean. Though when we do fsck /dev/hdX4, we get this message:
fsck.ext2: Attempt to read block from filesystem resulted in short read
while trying to open /dev/hdb4
Could this be a zero-length partition?
The partition is 27GB. We think a user's account over-filled with email
though /home was at 2%. Is there anyway to fix this without reformatting?
Thanks in advance,

with 600 messages while hda1 was 80% and other partitions were under
9%.
