This same problem drove me batty for 3 days.
First it is definitely NOT a dns problem.
Second this only happened for the first 30-40 domains, after I found the
solution, it hasn't happened again. Now there is about 120 domains on the
raq4. Of course we don't track who actually uses the mail server. So it is
possible the next 80 domains don't use mail (unlikely though)
The solution was to go into the site settings screen, erase the email server
aliases, save changes, then add the aliases again, save changes. Stupid,
yes, but it worked for every site.
