Thanks for pointing that out- still learning here. BTI- I followed your
directions in the archives on getting rid of IPX/appleshare in the loggs
and that totally hosed our system. Can you help us out here? We tried
several attempts like this adding this to /etc/conf.modules:
>> # alias net-pf-4 ipx
>> alias net-pf-4 off
>> # alias net-pf-5 appletalk
>> alias net-pf-5 off
>Makes no difference to leave them or to take them out.
We have re-booted, restarted syslog, and still get these messages:
Nov 11 14:00:05 qube2 modprobe: can't locate module net-pf-5
Nov 11 14:00:05 qube2 last message repeated 22 times.
Nov 11 14:07:05 qube2 modprobe: can't locate module net-pf-5
Nov 11 14:13:05 qube2 modprobe: can't locate module net-pf-5
Nov 11 14:15:05 qube2 modprobe: can't locate module net-pf-5
Nov 11 14:15:05 qube2 last message repeated 3 times.
We also tried removing the 2 lines in conf.modules, just adding the word
off at the end of each line and still get similar messages.
Any help appreciated.
