RE: [cobalt-users] Old Perennial - registering nameservers

I had this self same problem with WF except that I wasn't told about the NS
process ! After thinking that I was going potty for a couple of days being
relatively new to the management of linux boxes I eventually decided that it
wasn,t me and tracked back through the process to find out that WF had put
their own NServers down instead of mine. It still took about 3/4 days for
the re-registration to "filter through" so give it another few hours yet and
see what happens. It's worth checking with the registry that your server
appears as the ns server. After a two week wait and various broken promises
from wf about delivery it was almost the final straw with them even though
they have (almost) redeemed themselves subsequently by being efficient on
their billing admin correction and some technical help which was quick and
to the point.

The easiest way I have found of checking all this is to go to magicmoments
site (apparently now part of webfusion) and seeing if your domain is
available. When yours comes up in the list click it and all the current info
is there for the taking. check the name servers and if yours is there
correctly hang on a few more hours if not get on to webfusion. My argument
is that they should set the things up right in the first place to save
another transfer of inforamation and a long wait.

I'm sure some old hands at this will probably be tittering at our relative
inexperience in this area but until someone tells you... !
