followup: so, after much digging around, i am now fairly certain i know
how to fix this, but i would like someone more knowledgeable than i to
confirm this if possible.
i believe that the crlf characters are being added by sendmail upon
receipt of an email message. furthermore, it seems like i can change
the default behavior by adding the "Linelim" field to the propper mailer
definition (pop.m4). if this is true, and i make the change detailed
below, do i need to restart sendmail? also, will the cobalt gui
overwrite any changes i make to the pop.m4 file?
so my proposed fix is to apend "L=2040" to the "pop.m4" mailer
definition file (i.e., "/usr/lib/sendmail-cf/mailer/pop.m4").
thus the line:
Mpop, P=POP_MAILER_PATH, F=CONCAT(`lsDFMq', POP_MAILER_FLAGS), S=10,
R=20/40, T=DNS/RFC822/X-Unix,
A=POP_MAILER_ARGS
would become:
Mpop, P=POP_MAILER_PATH, F=CONCAT(`lsDFMq', POP_MAILER_FLAGS), S=10,
R=20/40, T=DNS/RFC822/X-Unix,
A=POP_MAILER_ARGS, L=2040
does this seem like the right thing to do?
thanks for the help,
mikey.
