I'm assuming that you know, John, that Raq does not need any hostname
for its mail functions. both pop and smtp can function with just the
domain name configured in an email client IF you have the dns done
right. See below.
----- Transcript of session follows -----
553 5.3.5 mail.cordeiroaccountingonline.com. config error: mail loops back
to me (MX problem?)
554 5.3.5 <ccordeiro@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>... Local configuration
error
Usually this means it isn't recognizing
"mail.cordeiroaccountingonline.com" as a mail server or site
accepting email. To be absolutely certain, do two things:
Is mail.cordeiroaccountingonline.com a real web site? If so, you
should define it as the site that accepts mail for your domain. If it
isn't, you might want to simply create that site in order to make it
very clear to the Raq that you want a server with the "mail"
hostname. It's not absolutely necessary but, if you don't have a huge
number of virtual sites, it might be worth it. That's what we do, by
the way, for one domain.
In any case your mx record should be:
MX cordeiroaccountingonline.com > cordeiroaccountingonline.com
Take the "mail" out of your record and make sure one of your sites
accepts mail for the domain. As long as there's a "mail" site in
existence, your email will flow properly.
Hope to this helps.
Alfredo
