Page 65:

"The DNS resource records used for this mapping are PTR (pointer)
records. There is one record for each host interface on this network."

The "host interface" is typically what the IP# is attached to.

Also, on the same page:

"First, addresses should only point to a single name: the canonical
name." (an example follows)

Now I must admit there's another sentence I take some issue with:

"You _can_ create two PTR records, one for _wormhole_ and one for
_wh249_ [the two examples in the book], but most systems are not
prepared to see more than one name for an address."

The issue I take with it is the "_can_".  To me it's a dangerous
"_can_", since there's no guarantee it won't break DNS.  See my previous
reply, which explains my logic in great detail.

That's what I'll eventually write in my DNS book.  My working title is
"DNS for Dummies" but note that this will NOT be the final name, as IDG
will not buy it for their Dummies series.
