Hi Graeme,

Thanks for responding to my mysql cry for help...  I tried what you said 
and no go...

I was able to stop the server, but on start up I get this:
	Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /var/lib/mysql
	mysqld daemon ended

After this the machines just pauses for a long time and nothing...

I am desperate now, because our Kurant StoreSense accounts use the mysql 
and now they are down - reporting a javascript error...

The server does not want to seem to start back up...

Any other ideas???

I am SURE the mysql.sock has been deleted...
