You've already gotten an answer from Rodolfo pointing out that you'd
save nothing by running a secondary DNS elsewhere.
What I wanted to make clear is that DNS is perhaps the lowest use of
machine resources you've got... especially if you're only hosting DNS
for your own systems: DNS information is passed between servers in only
ONE packet. That's hardly a lot of data considering how many packets
are going to be transmitted afterwards.
If youv'e got hundreds of people using your DNS server to browse the web
(in other words if you're DNS server is set up as a caching server for
hundreds of users, then you could be using a fair amount of memory,
though hardly any other load to be appreciated. In that case you might
want to just point your users to your upstreams DNS server. You should
get their permission first, but as I said, DNS is such a low user of
system resources, that I've never seen an upstream say no.

If you really did need a DNS server (which you most likely don't), you
could put it OUTSIDE the firewall, by setting up a small switch, or even
a hub if you're cheap <smile> between your Qube and the router, and
putting the second server there.
