Hello Cobalt-users,
Sorry to send this again, but it looks as if I submitted the mail
wrong the first time.
Well I've got one for you all. Suddenly, and randomly, several DNS
entries are being erased. In short, one day they are there, the next
day they are not.
Here is an example
bestpage.com 216.115.245.147
mail.bestpage.com 216.115.245.147
216.115.245.147/24 mail.bestpage.com
216.115.245.147/24 www.bestpage.com
As you can see, the host WWW is missing on the front end, but not on
the reverse lookup side. Yet the domain by itself is on the front end,
but not on reverse lookup. There are two DNS entries that are now
missing. Notice mail.bestpage.com is there on both sides. Yet the MX
record is also missing.
Now this is one example. I run a Cobalt RaQ3i with about 100 virtual
sites on it, and I'd say 20-30 DNS entries go missing each day. I'm
basically sitting there and putting them back into the server.
Anyone have ANY clues? Do you know first WHY this happens, and second,
is there a way to get it to stop deleting the DNS entries? Please Help.
Thanks
Chris Hood
