Hey All,

I was looking in my /etc/passwd file and noticed that some users have a
:

/bin/bash

shell path, and others have a :

/bin/badsh

shell path.

I am wondering what the difference is here? Can anyone explain?

bash is a shell. Users that have that in your /etc/passwd file are authorized to connect via telnet. badsh is short for "bad shell". Those are users without permission to connect via telnet.
