And expect them to do what..?? I installed this patch after it had remained on
their site for several days (figured it was a-okay).. The following day it was
gone and so were my updated nightly stats.. My first email to support got the
following reply:

>October 14, 2000 8:06 AM
>The patch that had been pulled could potentially wedge the root >partition if
the access log was to big during the spliting of the
>logs every morning at 4:01 am...a new patch should come out today that
>corrects the problem.

After a week with no updated patch and many bitching customers I emailed them
again. This time I got this response from Cobalt:

> If this is a matter of great urgency, there is an "in between"
> patch for the logrotate/analog/web stats issue on the RaQ3
> servers. This is not the official release, they will be releasing a

Basically they released another half-ass upgrade, screwed me, my server and my
customers, and don't (as of yet) have a fix for the problem... (It's the "It
would be at your own risk" part that burns my ass!).

Forget it, we're screwed until they fix what they broke with their initial
"official release" of the patch! It is considered official once they post it
on their web site for download and consumption isn't it..?
