Hi All,
I have a 3Com ISDN Terminal Adapter, and I'm having trouble connecting
to my ISP. When I use a 56Kbps modem on my Qube2, it all works
perfectly. When I use the ISDN modem, no go.
Here's what happens (from the Qube2's /var/log/messages) When the Qube2
attempts to connect using ISDN, the dialup succeeds, and connects to
ppp0. Then, thirty seconds later, the message "no response to
PAP-authentication" is recorded in the log. Another thirty seconds
later, diald shuts down pppd, having exceeded diald's 60-second time
limit.
Here's what happens (from the ISP's log): The ISP log says that the
dialup occurs and connects successfully. The PAP Authentication
succeeds and we are logged-in. Then, 60 seconds later, the connection
is terminated by the remote (that's the Qube) hanging up.
What's happening here? Is there a setting in the Qube2 that can handle
this problem? Looks to me like the Qube is not recognizing (not
receiving?) the response from the server when an ISDN connection
occurs. Incidentally, this ISDN TA worked PERFECTLY with a clunky old
486/66 and RedHat Linux 6.0, so it isn't the TA...
Any advice is MOST welcome -- as you might expect, I'm getting a LOT of
requests about this!
THANKS,
Vic
