if you are using ssh only to get to the box now, then you shouldn't have any troubles gettin to it after you disable telnet.
Not meaning to sound too stupid, but....If I go now and diable telnet in the inetd.conf file, restart inetd, I will still be able to open a shell with SSH. The only reason I want to be sure is that the server is 5000 miles from where I am and the company holding the server charges $150 bucks to look at teh stupid thing. I really don't like giving them money.
