When I call the mail command using a CGI or a PHP script it will hang for
about 40 seconds and then send the email. When I try the script on another
machine, it works fine. I have tried using the mail command over telnet and
it does the same thing. Regular POP3 and SMTP works fine using Outlook or
another mail client.
I was told that it could be that a reverse DNS entry is not present, but I
have added a reverse DNS and it still hangs. I might look into trying to
get sendmail to send an email eventhough it cant find a DNS entry. Any help
would be great on this topic.
Randall
