[cobalt-users] Raq 4r 10/100 NIC

Hello all,

I have an issue with a RaQ4r we have, the switch that its connected to
(a 3COM switch), for a weird reason stops listening to the R4 IP adress.
(I have 6 more RaQs 2 and 3i mounted on the same physical rack and
connected to that same switch and they have no problem)

After several weeks of bugging my ISP admin, and obviosly after
receiving a "it is something in your brand new-out of the box RaQ4r
server", I made a telnet session to another Raq, then logged in as root
and send a ping to my apparently "dead" server.

What I found is that right after the Raq4 received the ping request, it
started working and listening to all web, mail and ftp services with no
problem. I knew then why sometimes the server, which would "come up"
without intervention after hours being dead, would say that "has been up
and running for 1 day, 6 hours and 5 minutes"

We are going to change the switch it is connected to, and will try 100mb
on the network (right now the switch provides 10mb connnection on the
nic.

Does someone knows if the change to 100 instead of 10mb is in automatic
mode in the RaQ?, can I "force" 100mb somewhere in the server?

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Mexico city waves hello.
