This isn't microsoft???????

Try something like telneting in and typing top and look at the top of it and
see what is running like mad!!!!
and
look at the  %MEM column to and if you see any big numbers????

With sendmail crashing I have to ask if you did something stupid like
created an "open relay" , maybe you put .com .net .tld in your relay box?
Did you get hacked?  Do you have a user that is a spammer?  Did an account
get taken over by a spammer?

Anyway look at what it is doing before you play micro games....
