[cobalt-users] re: shared SSL on RaQ4

Brian--

yeah. Well, in a perfect world. :)

I am aware that if I have everything I could theoretically (make that
definitely) move things. However, in this instance the two hosts where I

had resold domains did not have one or more element backed up which is
why all of my clients are scr*wed in this instance. I either have to get

new certs, or give them shared SSL. This is, of course, one of the many
reasons I am severing relationships and moving to co-located hardware.

Beside the point however, I do want to offer shared SSL regardless of
the pros and cons. I always thought it was a nice feature and "isn't
hurting anyone" so why not? If I can make an extra $100 - 200 month in
hosting revenue simply by installing this feature properly (umm...
"hack" properly) then it's worth it to me. Plus I was offering this
service through that crappy hosting sweat shop ("CT").

Now that I'm bringing it all into my own 1/2-rack environment and have
total power (nyah haha hhah!!!), then I hope to be able to provide
better service to my customers.

Any compelling reason not to do it? (Shared SSL.) Melt down, humidity
on the diodes, LCD display failure, etc.? (kidding)

Anyway... assuming I plan to get this done by this weekend, any tips?

Thanks for the responses. :)

Christopher

This is not true. You should be able to easily move the cert/key pairs
from
one server to another. The only reason you would need to request a new
cert
would be if you loose the corresponding private key for it. Have you
asked
your current host for a copy of the cert/key pairs?
